David William Duchovny (born August 7, 1960 in New York City) is an American television and film actor most famous for swimming a character of FBI professional Fox Mulder on The X-Files TV series.

His father was Brooklyn-born Jewish writer Amram Duchovny and his mother is Margaret, the Scottish-born teacher. Duchovny occurs as graduate of Princeton University and also holds a Master's degree in English Literature from Yale University. He married actress Téa Leoni on May 6, 1997. In April 24, 1999 Téa gave birth to a girl, Madelaine West Duchovny. Their 2nd infant, the boy, Kyd Miller Duchovny, was natural June 15, 2002. A Duchovnys make their zero in Malibu, California.

Prior to The X-Files, Duchovny had the memorable recurring role as a transvestic DEA professional on the series Twin Peaks. He likewise processed many guest appearances in the cult TV caustic remark The Larry Sanders Show, playing himself, & he featured unforgettably in the final episode of the series, performing the parody of Sharon Stone's notorious 'flashing' scene from either Basic Instinct.

He has as well been the guest carrier in Saturday Night Live (May 13, 1995; May 9, 1998).

He occurs as vegetarian. At Princeton, he was a member of the Charter Club, one of the University's eating clubs, where upperclassmen choose their meals. Duchovny means "spiritual" around Russian.
